The Ipswich Maritime Trust Window Museum on the Ipswich Waterfront features a selection from the collection of The Museum of Knots & Sailors Ropework. It can be viewed 24/7 for the next 5 months or so. But there is still plenty to see by appointment at the Museum itself itself .
The exhibition at the Ipswich Maritime Window Museum has now finished.

Another International Loan
The Museum of Knots and Sailor’s Ropework has loaned 20 items from its collection to the Naval section of MUSEE ROYAL DE L’ARMEE ET D’HISTOIRE MILITAIRE, Brussels. The items are on loan as part of an exhibition of marine art that runs from June 15 to September 15, 2011.
Museum’s international loan
Our Museum has gone international, with a loan of items for a special exhibition in France…
The Museum of Knots and Sailor’s Ropework has loaned 48 items from its collection to the Musée Industriel de la Corderie Vallois à Notre-Dame-de-Bondeville near Rouen in France. The items are on loan for their exhibition L’appel du large (the call of the sea) – sailors’ ropework and sailors’ popular art. The exhibition runs from May 24, 2008 until of January 5, 2009. This water powered ropery is well worth a visit at any time, but this special exhibition is an added bonus.
